An exciting excursion for the whole family!
Welcome to the wonderful world of butterflies at the Butterfly Garden in Knokke-Heist.
As you step into the Vlindertuin, you enter a primeval
forest of exotic plants complete with a babbling brook.
More than 300 butterflies from a wide variety of countries
flutter and flit wherever you go, including passionflower
butterflies, tropical butterflies, owlet
moths, red admirals etc.
And, if you’re lucky, some may even come and land
gently on your head or shoulders.

from chrysalis to butterfly
During the season, many butterflies breed and procreate
in the Butterfly Garden. You’ll see them at all
stages of their lifecycle: eggs, caterpillars, chrysalises
and fully-fledged butterflies.
The colourful information panels will also tell you
everything you need to know about their remarkable
process of growth.
All of which makes an excursion to the Butterfly
Garden a wondrous and fascinating journey into the
world of these amazing insects.
